 Centripetal force & Centrifugal force

What is centripetal force ?

Centripetal force definition :-A force acted on a particle performing circular motion along the radius and towards the centre of circle is called centripetal force. As there is no displacement in direction of centripetal force hence it does not perform any work. Centripetal force is also called real force.
Centripetal force is given by (formula of centripetal force)
Fc= mv sq/r

Example for centripetal force

(1) Moon revolve around the earth  in circular circular orbit. A centripetal force required for the circular motion of the Moon is provided by a gravitational force of attraction between Earth and Moon.

(2) In atom electron revolves around the nucleus in circular orbit. The centripetal force required for the motion of electrons is provided by electrostatic force of attraction between positive charge nucleus and negative charge electron.

(3) It is a real force arising from gravitational or electromagnetic interaction between matter.

What is centrifugal force ?

Centrifugal force definition :- A force acting on a particle performing circular motion along the radius and away from the centre is called centrifugal force. It is equal and opposite that of centripetal force. The centripetal force is also called pseudo force.
Centrifugal force is given by ( formula of centrifugal force).
Fg = mv sq/r

Example for centrifugal force

(1) A person in a Merry Go Round experience are radically outward force.

(2) A passengers in a car taking a turn on a level road experience for radical away from the centre of the circular road.

(3) are coin on a rotating turnable files of for some high enough angular speed of the turnable.

Difference between centripetal force and centrifugal force

Centripetal force :-
1. It is  acted along the radius and towards the centre.
2. Centripetal force is the force required to provide centripetal acceleration to a particle so that it moving in a circular path.
3. It is also known as a real force.
4. It is inertial frame of structure.
5. It is given by Fc = mv sq/r

Centrifugal force :-
1. It is  acted along the radius and away from the centre.
2. The centrifugal tendency of the particle is accelerated frame of reference is explained by assuming a centripetal force acting on it.
3. It is also known as pseudo force.
4. It is non inertial frame of structure.
5. It is given by Fg = - mv sq/ r

Definition and Formules                                    CIRCULAR MOTION CIRCULAR MOTION DEFINITION The motion of partical along the circumference of circle is called circular motion . Circular motion is of two type uniform circular motion and non-uniform circular motion . Uniform circular motion The motion of particle in which its speed remains constant is called uniform circular motion.  Non uniform circular motion  the circular motion of particle average speed of particle goes on changing use cal non uniform circular motion. Angular displacement An angle traced by a radius vector at the centre of the circle is called angular displacement, Angular displacement is represented by 𝚹 its unit is radian is direction is given by Right Hand Thumb Rule. Angular velocity The rate of change of angular displacement with respect to time is called angular velocity. Its unit is rad/sec and di...
